An introduction to Mike Henderson, our newly affirmed Elder. By Maria Hartman

"Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach" 1 Timothy 3:2

Radford Baptist recently confirmed a new Elder to Shepherd the people of God. Mike Henderson, who has been a Deacon since 2015, began attending Radford Baptist in 2013.

He is married to his sweet wife Laurie for almost 20 years, and has a daughter, Stephanie (18) who attends Liberty University, and a son Zach (16) who is involved in our youth program.

Mike grew up in Roanoke and went to Christian School from 2nd-12th grade. He attended a baptist church before coming to us, and was involved in Awana for 3 years there. Here at Radford, Mike and Laurie have continued serving in Awana (4 years). They also teach K-2nd grade every other month.

During the week, Mike works as a Fire Alarm Inspector, and has done so for the last 6 years. His work often requires him to travel within a 2 hour radius of home. He enjoys cars, mountain bike riding, and working in the garden with Laurie.

Mike has a clear heart for the Lord and we are blessed to have him as an example of a servant-leader. Please pray for him and his family as they serve the Lord in this way, along with our Pastors, Elders, and Deacons.
