First Time Here?
We are excited that you are considering joining us. The best time for your first visit would probably be a Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 AM, so we answered some of the questions that may be on your mind. Of course, feel free to email us or call us if you need some more information.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I would like to visit Radford this Sunday. What do I need to know?
A. Here are the basics, including our directions to the church's building. When you arrive, there are spots reserved for you on the left as you pull into the parking lot, and the front doors are behind the large white pillars. There is an information desk to the right, and fresh brewed coffee to the left. Feel free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable. By the way, the bathrooms are also to the left down the hall.
Q. Do I need to dress up to attend?
A. Dress comfortably--we attend in anything from shorts and shirts to suits and ties. Whatever you feel comfortable wearing, you won't feel out of place. Did we mention dress comfortably?
Q. Are there Sunday activities for my preschooler or children during the service?
A. We provide a loving nursery for children from birth up through 3 years old during the entire service. Children age 4 through the 5th grade are dismissed during the sermon time to LifeKIDS where they can learn more of the Story of God in a way that better suits them. They can be picked up immediately following the service in our Youth Room. One of our Greeters will be happy to show you where our Nursery and Youth Room are located. Of course, you are free to keep your children with you if you prefer.
Q. Do I need to bring a Bible to worship?
A. A Bible is helpful for you to use during the message portion of the service for reference. If you do not have a Bible, copies are available in the pew for your use. Pastor Karl teaches from the New King James Version (NKJV), but whatever translation you want to study with is just fine. You can download the free YouVersion Bible app for your smart phone or tablet here.
Q. What is Radford's "style" of music?
A. In terms of music, we don't have a "style" that we stick with, although we do more contemporary praise songs and choruses than hymns. Our desire is that our worship be uplifting and create a sense of awe of who God is, and prepares us for the teaching time in the Word. Keeping a variety of both music and media makes each service a unique experience. Click on this link to hear some of the music we play in our service so you can become more familiar with it during the week.
Q. What does your church believe about the Bible's teachings?
A. A listing of our core beliefs can be found here. For the best opportunity to understand our church's beliefs and to ask questions, consider attending our Discovery Lunch, which is held periodically.
Q. How do I find out about what is happening at Radford?
A. You can click here to recieve the Radford Connection Newsletter. Joining our Facebook group page will keep you up on the ongoing "conversation".
