Connect Opportunities – Sunday Morning – 9:15 AM
Spring 2010 – May
Family Life – Chapel – “Fireproof” – Bob & Michelle Odom – This class will explore the issues that face many married couples. The study is based on the popular movie “Fireproof.” Each session will review a clip from the movie and then will discuss the key points of the clip as it relates to marriage.
“Financial Peace University” – Fellowship Hall – Micah/Shannon Gaudio & Kevin/Cherad Cloran – 9:00 AM – Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) will aide individual’s in developing a financial plan that will guide them toward becoming debt free and to save up to six months for emergencies. The cost of this class will be $100 and will give you a lifetime membership into FPU.
Kingdom Living – Fellowship Hall – “Experiencing God”- Jeff Connell – will lead this study as the class explores what it means to experience God in a real sense. Some of the questions we address are: “Can we truly experience God in our lives?” “What does it look like to experience God?” “How do I know when God is speaking to me?” “What do I have to do to experience God?” This study uses Experiencing God by Blackaby and King as a baseline, but also includes closely related material by Dallas Willard, Gary Habermas, Lee Strobel, J. P. Moreland and others to answer these and other questions to help each of us to learn to live in and live out the Kingdom of God, here, now, as apprentices of Jesus Christ.
Women at the Well – Room 416 – Cathy Smith – “Ruth” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss – The Book of Ruth contains a message of redemption and revival. If you are dealing with difficult people, whirlwind circumstances, unfulfilled longings, loneliness, bitterness or grief this teaching will assist you in finding Biblical answers.
Women’s Class – Room 205 – Susan Lawrie – “Prayer” This class is especially geared for women and is an aide to give practical and in-depth help for women to grow in Christ. Each class will be geared toward a specific topic or study that will challenge one’s personal growth in Christ.
Men’s Class – Room 208 - Jim Weaver – “Book of Proverbs” - The men’s class is studying the Book of Proverbs. This is a verse by verse study that gives men the tools they need to advance their growth in Christ.
Caregivers – Room 106 – “Church Gone Wrong” – 55 years plus – Rolf Nelson – This study is based selected scriptures from 1 Corinthians and will examine various problems facing the Corinthian church and will show how Paul addressed those problems. This study is important as many of these same problems are relevant in today’s church.
Adult Senior Women – Room 415 – “Exodus & Leviticus”- Thelma Meador & Gerry Cassidy – This study will explore the truths of Exodus and Leviticus by providing personal applications of the truths presented.
Other Connect Opportunities
Men’s Fraternity – Tuesday –
At the Church – 6:00 AM –“Soul Carvings” – The Tuesday Morning Men’s Group that meets at RBC will begin a new men’s study on Tuesday April 27 at 6:00 AM. The title of the study will be Soul Cravings which is a powerful, down-to-earth exposition that interprets our need for intimacy, meaning and destiny as a common sense study that points us to the existence of and our need for God. This study will stir the members to consider and chase after the spiritual implications of their soul’s deepest longings. For more information about this study contact Bob Odom or Pedro Tuck.
At the Go-Agency at Westlake – 6:30 AM – Frank Hummel will be leading this group in a series of studies to encourage men to become all they can be.
Women’s Bible Study – Wednesday – 9:30 AM – Youth Center – “Me, Myself & Lies” by Jennifer Rothschild. – This six-week Bible study will encourage you to clean out the “junk” in your thoughts and replace these hidden negative thoughts and failures with positive truths from God’s word. Rather than struggling with self-esteem, body image, stress and other unhealthy thoughts and emotions, you will learn to replace the lies you may have been telling yourself with the truth from God’s word.
Bible Study and Prayer - Wednesday – 6:30 PM – Room 106 – Bob Odom – The purpose of this study is aide believers in their understanding of the Biblical principles that guide our lives. We see many of these heroes in the Hall of Fame of Faith in Hebrews 11. We will look at their successes and their failures in order to learn about the grace of God.
