FAQ
What are Radford Baptist church’s denominational connections?
Radford is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We cooperate with the Convention and it’s organizations on the state (Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia) and national level to accomplish together those things that we could not do with great effectiveness as an individual church; such as the support of seminaries, hospitals, Christian colleges, missions and benevolence agencies. Like all Southern Baptist churches, we are independent and participate with denominational agencies only to the extent that it serves the God-given commission of the Church.
Would Radford Baptist be considered liberal or conservative in its theology?
Conservative, though we seek not to be legalistic but to approach issues with the Biblical balance of both uncompromised standards and God’s grace. By conservative we mean that we hold to the inerrancy of Scripture, the deity of Christ, the vicarious substitutionary atonement of Christ, the physical resurrection of Christ, and the bodily return of Christ.
How would you describe the worship service at Radford Baptist Church?
It is difficult to put into words what exactly takes place on a Sunday morning. Some may describe it as Baptist church that is on steroids or forgot it was Baptist, but the best way to describe it is a group of Christ followers that are gathered together for the singular purpose of giving God the praise and glory He deserves with no thought for personal preference eagerly anticipating what He is graciously going to do in their midst. We seek to blend elements of our religious heritage with elements from our own experience all grounded in the Word of God and for His glory.
What is the organizational structure of Radford Baptist Church?
Christ centered – Everything at Radford Baptist is done for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and by His grace and in His power.
Relationship focused – Our three priorities help us stay focused on relationships rather than programming. The priority of worship keeps us focused on our relationship with God almighty, the priorities of nurture and mission keep us focused on our human relationships with both those who have entered into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and those who have not yet made that decision.
Team driven – Every member of Radford Baptist Church is a minister. We function most biblically as the body of Christ when we each embrace this not only as a conviction but as a way of life. We believe in the priesthood of every believer which means that every believer has access to God through Jesus Christ and every believer has a significant and essential role within the body as a whole.
